Sarah Oneal orphan of John John [sic?] Oneal came into Court and chose Frederick Trevathan Guardian who entered into Bond of one hundred and fifty pounds with Elisha Stalling and Isham Oneal Securities.

The last Will and testament of Robert Trevathan was proved by Jesse Johnson who at the same time swore he saw Seth Garret and Amos Rose subscribe the said will as witnesses Robert Trevathan the executor therein named was qualified at the same time and took out Letters.

Administration is on motion granted to Frederick Trevathan on the estate of Benjamin O'Neil who entered into Bond of One hundred pounds with Isham Oneil and Frederick Trevathan security's.

Ordered that citation issue against Frederick Trevathan to cause him to appear at this present court to give an account of his Guardianship of Sarah Oneal orphan of John Oneal deceased.

Administration is granted to Robert Trevathan on the estate of Frederick Trevathan. He entered in bond of Five hundred pounds with Aaron Maner and William Pope securities
Ordered that the administration of Frederick Trevathan decd sell the personal estate of the said decd according to law.
A deed of Sale from Aaron Maner to Frederick Trevathan acknowledged.
Inventory of the estate of Frederick Trevathan decd returned on oath by the admr.

In the name of God Amend I Robert Trevathan of the County of Edgecomb and State of N. Carolina being of sound and perfect mind and memory (blessed be God) do this second day of March in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and Twenty Four make and Publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following:
First. I desire my Just debts to be paid.
Item. I lend the use of all my property, real and of every kind to my wife Grace Trevathan during her natural life.
Item (after the decease of my wife) I give to my two sons Jonas Trevathan and Dempsey Trevathan all my Lands of which I am possess'd to be Equally divided between them also I give to my son Jonas Trevathan one Feather bed and Furniture.
Item. I also give to my son Dempsey Trevathan one year old filly and a sow and pigs also one Feather bed and Furniture.
Item I give to my son Robert Trevathan one Feather bed and furniture.
Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth Trevathan forty five dollars and bed and furniture.
Item I give to my son John Trevathan on Feather bed and furniture one black man one cow and calf and those sheep already in possession valued at forty three dollars exclusive of the bed not valued.
Item I give to my daughter Sally Rose one feather bed and furniture one cow and yearling valued at ten dollars the bed not valued.
Item I give to my daughter Catherine Trevathan one Feather bed and furniture one cow and calf.
Item I give to Robert Trevathan Elizabeth Trevathan John Trevathan Sally Rose and Catherine Trevathan (after the death of my wife Grace) the remaining part of my property to be equally divided among them.
And I hereby make and ordain my Friends Henry Bryan and Richmond Dozier Exes. of of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said Robert Trevathan have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
Signed sealed [ ] and published by the said Robert Trevathan the Testator as his last will and Testament in the presence of use who were present at the time of signing and sealing thereof.
Edgecombe County August Court 1824 The within last will and Testament of Robert Trevathan dec'd was exhibited in open Court for Probate and was proven by the oath of Henry Trevathan one of the subscribing witnesses thereto who swore that Eli Trevathan the other subscribing witness signed the said will as a witness in his presence. And Richmond Dozier one of the Executors named in the said will at the same time qualified thereto. Ordered that the same be certified and the will recorded.

Land and Property Records
Edgecomb Co ) Know all men by these presents that I Dempsey Trevathan of the county and State above said am held and firmly bounded unto Jonas Trevathan in the penal sum of six hundred dollars, good and Lawfull money of the United States; the which payment will and truly to be made and done, I do hereby bind myself, my heirs Executors and administrators, jointly and firmly by these presents unto the said Jonas Trevathan his heirs and assigns sealed with my hand and seal January 9, 1827 The condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas the above bound Dempsey Trevathan by the last Will and Testament of his Father Robert Trevathan decd will be entitled to one half of a tract containing two hundred and two and a half acres of land lying and being in the County aforesaid on the south side of Swift Creek and No of Macason Swamp joining of the lands of Richmond Dozier, Robert Trevathan, Henry Trevathan the heirs of John George decd and Wm Everett; it being the land and plantation on which the said Robert Trevathan lived next before his death; also the same lands which the said Testator left to his wife Grace Trevathan during her natural life - Now the said Dempsey having sold unto his brother Jonas Trevathan one half of said mentioned tract of Land, for the sum of two hundred Dollars in hand paid by the said Jonas Trevathan before the sealing of this instrument Now provided the said Dempsey Trevathan shall at any time soon after the Death of his mother Grace make a good and firm Deed in Fee Simple to and for that part of the before mentioned tract of land which have been bequeathed to him by his father then this Bond to be null and void - but if it so happens that the said Dempsey should die before his mother then and in that case he hereby authorized this Executor or adm to convey a good and firm warranted Deed in fee simple unto his Brother Jonas Trevathan his heirs and assigns agreeably to an act of the general assembly of No Carolina.
